Ancient legend tells of one night when the sky above Chile’s valleys suddenly lit up with dancing flames. The cause was a huge eruption – lava and fire spewing from deep in the heart of the earth up through the highest peaks of the Andes Mountains. This grand volcanic explosion brought beneficial minerals and soils to enrich Chile’s land – a great legacy we enjoy through the superb terroir of our valleys. There are 500 or so active volcanoes in Chile, the name of each tier within our brand is a tribute to a different one.

At LFE, we believe that great wines begin in the vineyard. Under the guidance of Agriculture Director Eugenio Cox, our viticulture team ensures the highest quality grapes through meticulous year-round care.
In the winery, Chief Winemaker Nicolás Bizzarri and his team craft wines that faithfully reflect their origin, guided by both intuition and expertise.
We also collaborate with world-renowned consultants Matt Thomson and Philippe Melka, bringing additional perspective and excellence to our winemaking.
LFE’s winemaking facilities are located at the Puquillay Estate in the Colchagua Valley, where traditional methods meet modern technology to ensure the highest quality.
The site includes four specialized cellars with dedicated enologists, a temperature-controlled barrel room, and fully equipped bottling, storage, and shipping areas.
Inspired by Chaitén Volcano, CHAITÉN Reserva highlights vibrant fruit and smooth structure. Balanced and approachable, it combines subtle oak influence with a refined, persistent finish.

南米のワイン生産者の醸造したワインを下記のようなプロセスでテイスティング、評価を行い、制作されたワインブックで、各ワインには100点満点でのポイント評価を付加して、消費者へのワイン情報の提供を目的としたガイドブック。1999年にチリで初めて出版されました。初刊では、約600種類のワインを試飲し、すべてチリ産のワインのガイドブックでしたが、現在では、南米のワイン生産における主要4カ国、アルゼンチン、ブラジル、ウルグアイのワインもカバーしています。
Descorchadosのテイスティングプロセスは2つの部分から成ります。まず、アルゼンチン、ブラジル、チリ、ウルグアイのほとんどの生産者と会い、彼らと一緒にワインを試飲します。いわばインタビューのようなものです。時間的な制約により、全員にインタビューしたり訪問したりすることは不可能なので、時にはサンプルをお願いすることがあります。これらのテイスティングはブラインドではなく、真に際立ったワインのテイスティングノートを充実させることができます。私たちは、単に味覚的な説明を超えて、ワインの産地、製造方法、そして少しの歴史についてお伝えするというポリシーを掲げ、ワインを総合的に評価します。
第 2 段階では、最高得点のワインをすべてまとめて、もう一度ブラインドでテイスティングします。今度は、生産者の立ち会いなしで、サンプルに関する情報はほとんど提供されず (通常は産地とブドウ品種のみ)、ブラインドで行われます。
毎年、このガイドブックのテイスティングをワイナリーにて行い、最新のヴィンテージのワインを紹介し、評価していただいております。評価が確定した時点で、その後ボトリングされる各商品の表ラベルに評価で得たポイント追加しております。評価前にボトリングを完了し、出荷された商品には、ポイントが無い状態です。また高得点の評価が得られなかった商品には、当然ながらポイントが追加されることはありません。
このポイントにより、より消費者の方に「味わいや品質の良さ」をアピールし、他商品との差別化、低価格でも高品質であることを強調できるお手伝いができると考えております。
