Dona Bernarda was the first Icon wine released by Luis Felipe Edwards in honour of his wife, Bernarda.

This wine has been made in small quantities since 1997 from the highest quality grapes grown on the very best vineyard plots on our estate. From the very start the main component has been Cabernet Sauvignon usually blended with Carmenere, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Varietal  proportions change each year according to the winemaking team’s criteria and the results of each vintage.

This wine is afforded the very best treatment at each stage of its life; the best soils are selected, exceptionally low yields are left on each vine in order to allow it to give of its best, each bunch is hand selected, slow crushing of the grapes, fermentation lot by lot in order to keep the personality of the terroir and give complexity to the final blend, aged in new french oak barrels and finally allowed to age for 7 months in the bottles before its release.

This family  premium blend  has been awarded many prestigious international medals and accolades over the years, most recently the Trophy for Best Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon in London’s International  

Wine Challenge.
