The state-of-the-art winery at Luis Felipe Edwards' Puquillay estate was built in 1994, and today has the capacity for producing 6,100,000 litres of wine per annum.
This comprises 5,000,000 litres in stainless steel vats, 1,100,000 litres in epoxy cement vats and 700,000 litres of French and American oak casks for wine ageing.
Chilean wine is fermented at lower temperatures than Old World wines, giving them a more fruity character, and at Luis Felipe Edwards the skins are removed, Australian style, after six or seven days to obtain a more even flavour.
The winery has its own bottling and labelling equipment, with a daily capacity of 100,000 bottles, as well as a large bottled wine cellar. The latest German, Italian and French manufactured equipment ensures that Luis Felipe Edwards' wines are consistently produced to the highest quality standards.
